Flinter Challenge project for a good cause

Flinter Challenge supports initiatives where Flinter employees want to go for. Flinter Challenge covers the costs. Support from sponsors goes 100% to the good cause.

Alpe d'HuZes
On June 9th Flinter Challenge joined the Alpe d'HuZes event, a cycling event to raise money for the fund "KWF Kankerbestrijding". In this event individuals or teams tried to conquer the famous French mountain Alpe d'Huez. The Flinter team of 8 cyclers joined more than 4500 competitors raising money to fight cancer. The Flinter Challenge-team set them selves a goal to go up the "Dutch Mountain" at least six times, so the reward from the sponsors (€29.235) could be collected.

A day to remember!
On June 9th, 04.30 hours start in the dark. Lots of spectators along the streets of Bourg d'Oisans and then with so many cyclists up the mountain. A large string of red lights in front and a trail of white light in the back, GOOSEBUMPS. Pictures in the curves: "Dad, I won't give up either" and banners with the text: "For you Daaf..", it effects you. On top of the mountain euphoria is followed by emotional scenes: cyclists and supporters embracing each other. You will never forget this! It is bitter cold down hill. With chattering teeth and wrapped in blankets the team tried to drink hot coffee and relax.

The reward
The amount of 20.3 in total is collected. In October the final amount will be announced. Our Flinterteam is proud and happy to have joined this amazing event. We thank all our sponsors for their contribution.

Achievements Flinter Challenge team members:
Patrick Legierse 6*, Marco Muilenburg 6*, Leo de Pee 5*, Karel Smulders 5*, Goon Scheres 4*, Bart Otto 4*, Barry Wiese 3* en Martin de Klerk 2*. In total they went up the mountain 35 times.
