Saturday 14th May Flinter Aland was christened charmingly by Mrs. Kornelia Engelken, spouse of the Deputy Chairman of Bremer Landesbank.

A lot of visitors were present on the shipyard Ferus Smit in Westerbroek. At 11.00 hours sharp the bottle of Champagne clashed against the vessel.

Mrs. Engelken wished the crew and the vessel a lot of safe and profitable voyages.

Just after the launch our colleague Willem Doorduin and friends Erik van der Pluym and Robert de Vries, came over in the DutchThunderYaks formation for a few flybyes over the yard, to complete this spectaculair launch event.

MV Flinter Aland is expected to be delivered on 9th June 2011. Participants will receive a separate invitation from our Investor Relations department to visit the vessel just before she leaves for her maiden voyage.
